I'm Luna Rachmani, a third-year Communication & Multimedia Design student at NHL Stenden and founder of Something Wicked, a freelance multimedia agency I've been running since 2021. I work across UX research, interaction design, visual identity, and illustration. My work tends to live at the intersection of emotional complexity and practical need.
I'm Greek by origin - summers spent with family there until I was about twelve - but grew up in Germany, with stretches of time in England along the way. I landed in the Netherlands for my studies at NHL Stenden in Leeuwarden. My design path started at Berufskolleg Neandertal, where I completed a vocational qualification with a focus on design and a technical assistant apprenticeship - which meant I was doing client work and using Adobe tools before I started a university programme.
Since 2021 I've been running Something Wicked alongside my studies - taking on branding, visual identity, and multimedia projects for clients. In 2025 I spent a semester on exchange at TUS Moylish in Limerick, Ireland, studying Broadcast & Film Production, which expanded my practice into audio and moving image.
Research first, always. I use mixed methods - interviews, diary studies, usability testing, co-creation, desk research - and I care about keeping the trail from finding to decision visible. A design choice that can't be traced back to something real is a guess, and I'd rather have fewer decisions made with more confidence than lots of decisions made fast.
I'm drawn to projects where the problem has emotional weight - caregiver support, financial literacy for teenagers, harm reduction. These are areas where the difference between a good and a bad design isn't aesthetic, it's functional in someone's life. That raises the stakes in a way I find motivating rather than overwhelming.
I make music under the alias SALT - writing, producing, mixing my own vocals. I read a lot, mostly fiction and philosophy. I play videogames seriously enough that I built a brand identity around one. I also draw, which feeds directly back into illustration work for clients and projects like Op Jezelf and Kokoro.
Education, work experience, and references.
